It’s November 23 of what is quite possibly the worst year of the last 4 decades. (Fuck yourself, 2016.) We’re living in a nightmare/Black Mirror episode/the Upside Down.
But on the bright side, Gilmore Girls is coming back this week!

The episode opens with Spacey Grandpa serving everyone a big giant helping of “Johnny Machete.” It’s a bunch of crap in a bowl, like gruel or one of those horrible “dump dinner” things.

Rory’s application to Harvard has arrived! And it’s dropped off by a mailman who not only opens the front door to deliver the mail, but he leaves the door wide open because all Stars Hollow characters lack boundaries.
Review: Gilmore Girls – Season 3, Episode 2 “Haunted Leg”
We begin this episode with Judgy WASP Mom and Lorelai giving each other the silent treatment. The cold shoulder. The freeze out. Rory struggles valiantly to make conversation, but she should stop trying. Her mother is right. Her parents reaction to the news that C-Money is having a baby with another woman was completely out of line. She was already hurting from C-Money’s bullshit, and then her own parents have to make it worse?
When they finally do start talking about the girl Lorelai went to high school with who shot her husband, Judgy WASP Mom says, “At least she had a husband to kill.”

Review: Gilmore Girls – Season 1, Episode 20 “P.S. I Lo…”
EPISODE 20!!! Oh shit, I am SO CLOSE to the end of the first season. I hope this episode has more exciting plot points than last episode – the only noteworthy thing from that one was “Judgy WASP Mom wears ugly shoes.”
During the cold open, Lorelai and Rory play “One Two Three He’s Yours” which is a game where they get three chances to “find” a husband based on the random men that walk by. Lorelai gets stuck with Kirk from the supermarket and is sad. Rory gets an eyeful of Floppy and is sad.
I’ve always found the best way to start any story is from a place where everyone is sad and would like to die. It makes the audience feel good.
