It’s Winter Carnival time again in Stars Hollow and this means Lane will be manning a booth to solicit donations for the marching band. She’ll also be practicing with her OTHER band in Lorelai’s garage. Lorelai gives Lane the practice space if she promises not to pose nude on the cover of Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone shows nothing – she’d be better off asking Lane not to send nudes to her boyfriend via text.

We begin this episode with the girls watching Grey Gardens. This show’s love of camp rivals that of some drag queens.

I relate to the women of Grey Gardens because of their enduring love of cats. However, I insist upon litter boxes and strict maintenance of said litter boxes.

We begin this episode with Judgy WASP Mom and Lorelai giving each other the silent treatment. The cold shoulder. The freeze out. Rory struggles valiantly to make conversation, but she should stop trying. Her mother is right. Her parents reaction to the news that C-Money is having a baby with another woman was completely out of line. She was already hurting from C-Money’s bullshit, and then her own parents have to make it worse?

When they finally do start talking about the girl Lorelai went to high school with who shot her husband, Judgy WASP Mom says, “At least she had a husband to kill.”
